Senior Golfers - Senior Men's Schedule

Welcome to the 28TH year of the TIANNA MEN’S SENIOR GOLF LEAGUE.

2012 promises to be another great golfing season at beautiful TIANNA COUNTRY CLUB.

 

The following information is provided:

The season will start on May 7 and end on September 17.

SENIOR MEN’S LEAGUE is open to all men 55 and over.

 It is no longer a requirement to be a Tianna Country Club member.

Those who are Tianna members will be given priority over non-members

 in the event we fill up our league membership (100 men).

 

All players must have a USGA handicap at Tianna Country Club.

See the pro shop if you do not have a handicap card.

The schedule for weekly play is enclosed.

Please sign up before 5 PM on Saturday. Last minute changes will be accommodated

whenever possible by calling the club at 218-547-1712.

The annual banquet is scheduled for Monday, August 27 at Tianna. The Men’s club picks

up the tab for all members. Please note golf start time will be 12:30 PM with Happy Hour

and Banquet to follow.

 

THE DUES AND FEES FOR 2012:

LEAGUE DUES: $25.00

WEEKLY FEE FOR PRIZES: $5.00

THOSE WHO ARE NOT MEMBERS MUST PAY REGULAR GREEN FEES.

GUESTS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR LIMITED PLAY AND MUST PAY

 REGULAR GREEN FEES.

TIANNA WILL DETERMINE CART FEES.

League History

The senior men’s league was established by a group of 12 golfers in 1985, with George Mills serving as its first president. Through the years the league has served as a vehicle for senior men members of Tianna to enjoy weekly league participation and membership currently stands slightly over 100. The only charter member still active in the league is Joe Fletcher.

The weekly golf features various team games based on a handicap and point system enabling both high and low handicappers to enjoy the competition. Throughout its history the league has crowned individual flight champions based on three “All the Marbles” events conducted during the season. Champions are announced at the annual banquet in late August.
